Pastor Kenneth W. Hagin
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Flourishing depends on aligning yourself with God’s plan, not aligning with the situation or circumstances.
1. Root Yourself in God’s Word
Psalm 1:3 (NIV):“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”
A tree's roots must be deep to survive and thrive.
Action Steps:
Establish a daily Bible reading plan.
Memorize key Scriptures.
Engage in discussions about the Word with peers.
Question to Ask Yourself: What can I do to deepen my knowledge of God's Word this year?
2. Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV): “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Gratitude shifts our focus from our problem to God’s faithfulness.
Action Steps:
Start a gratitude journal.
Share thankful moments with family and friends.
Write thank-you notes to those who have impacted your life.
Question to Ask Yourself: What specific blessing can I thank God for today?
3. Step Out in Faith
Matthew 14:28-29 (NIV): …“Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”
Peter’s step of faith allowed him to do the miraculous.
Action Steps:
Go mend a broken relationship.
Share your faith journey with others.
Question to Ask Yourself: What is God calling me to take a leap or step of faith about?
4. Build Community
Galatians 6:2 (NIV): “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Action Steps:
Join a small group or community service project.
Reach out to friends and family to check on them.
Question to Ask Yourself: How can I invest in a meaningful relationship this year?
5. Rest in God’s Presence
Matthew 11:28 (NIV): “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Action Steps:
Schedule regular time for rest and reflection.
Engage in worship and prayer.
Question to Ask Yourself: Am I prioritizing time to rest in God’s presence?
6. Walk in Obedience
Deuteronomy 5:33 (NIV): “Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.”
It’s not about perfection, but a heart surrendered to God.
Action Steps:
Identify areas of your life that need alignment with God's will.
Surround yourself with supportive individuals.
Question to Ask Yourself: What step of obedience is God asking me to take in 2025?
Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Challenge to you:
Write down one specific action you can do for each of these principles this year.
Together, let’s thrive in 2025!
* The outline above is based on Pastor Hagin’s Sunday sermon about thriving in 2025, which he preached at RHEMA Bible Church on 5.January 2025.
